The off topic lounge has been the most sensible place to read in the Ds forum for the past few months, reading posts/comments in dev section makes me sad of what it has come to. Now this happened, i think i am just gonna download a nice gingerbread rom and slowly fade away.

Here as well then. In the end it does not mind much for us, we can all find the thread under participated threads or subscribed ones like we used to, only our device brought a small barrier which is now gone.

This thread makes me sad.

If XDA is supposed to be a community, why ban OT threads in device general forums?

Except for phone hardware and software stuff, anything else you post is OT. The hangout and offtopic threads in the general device forums are supposed to be a place where people from all over the world (having their phone as their common denominator) can get together and share their experiences about everything.

If the mods can let noobs get away with asking the silliest questions without being pulled up for it,
If the Dev committee can make a guy who de-odexes a stock ROM (and adds Gapps and a few other apps to it) a Recognized Developer,
If people can lose Recognized Contributor status just for getting mildly angry at people noobing it out in the Dev section,

I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A REBOOT.

XDA NEEDS TO RETHINK THE WAY THINGS ARE DONE.

/Rant end.

Exactly my thoughts. Currently on Endy and it servers me well for all tasks I usually do with phone...Probably my next ROM will be on different hardware. Just haven't picked it up yet

Since Ben's thread has gone too, I have combined the sanctuary thread with this too.

Thanks @Oly thought that linking the two was the best idea, at least this way present and past DS users can have a nice place to go.... hopefully.
