Car Dock issue

I ran into a strange "condition" using the Maxx HD and the stock car dock in a 2009 Pontiac GT.
My stereo normally turns off with the ignition key.
Since I put this dock in, it stays on after I shut the car off and remove the key.
When I take the phone out of the dock, the stereo shuts off.

Never happened with my Thunderbolt & dock.

doesn't sound like a condition, but a feature, and a useful one at that

My BMW will not disconnect the phone if I'm in an active call when I turn off the car. The car won't shut off the hands free feature until the call disconnects. Different cars behave differently.

That is a cool feature.
I've been on calls and shut off the car without thinking. The hands free goes dead and I have to grab the phone or hit speaker.

Update: issue has not occurred since I took my otterbox case off.

Sometimes annoying when yo want to get out of the car. Because you need to manually switch the call settings.
