Its not a big problem to flash a CSC file if you HAVE it lol. When I googled I found positive feedback regarding flasihng just the CSC file.
But wait till some one else with more knowladge confirms this, for yours and mine good :P

I tried flashing in different ways with the CSC for my region, with and without PIT, with and without repartition and always stays with MULTI CSC. I've also tried flashing the full ROM in my region (ARO) but KIES sample as XTC (philipinas). Result, I can not update OTA or Kies.

If you want JB that will come out for your country, just flash it with Odin when it comes out. No need to go back to GB before.

Is it necessary to root my phone before using this method?

No, you use Odin that has nothing to do with rooting phone.

So how in the gods name do we get rid of the multi csc thing? Kill it with fire right

P.s Its interesting that this topic was moved from the dev section, explains me alot. There's a reason for the tags under some user names, well lesson learned on the hard way.
If you have MULTI CSC that means if the service finds out there's no warranty.
My advice is to stop using this method before we have a solution for the csc thing or at-least the explanation if its necessary to use or not. Maybe you should update the first post regarding the warranty info, its kinda fair to others.
