Moving from a Galaxy Nexus to the Galaxy Note, I immediately started missing the AOSP look aswell as most of the AOSP apps. However I still liked some of the Touchwiz features which I would lose if I moved to an AOSP ROM. As such I decided to build a ROM which is based on the official Samsung ROM which has most of the Samsung apps replaced with AOSP ones. Apart from this, ProjectAOSP is also completely themed to look just like an AOSP rom would. The result is a ROM which looks just like an AOSP ROM along with the fully working AOSP apps running on the Samsung framework. This allows Samsung apps and features such as SNote, Multiwindow and Smart Stay to work perfectly in an excellent AOSP experience, creating what for me is the best of both roms.
Features :
Rooted (SuperSU)
Deodexed
Simplistic Framework
Nexus Bootanimation
AOSP Theme (Based on Aventy’s theme with modifications to make it look more authentic)
AOSP Dialler
AOSP Contacts
AOSP Camera
AOSP Gallery
AOSP Calendar
AOSP Clock
AOSP MMS
AOSP Keyboard
AOSP Calculator
AOSP Browser
Play Music
Nova Launcher
CRT Off Animation
OTA updated via Goo Manager
Optional Samsung Apps in Aroma Installer
A Full Wipe is recommended if coming from another Rom.
Flash the Rom ZIP file and go through the Aroma installer.
If selecting any option from the installer, check if any guide from below applies to that option.
Reboot and enjoy !
Installing Simplistic Framework 3.5.1
With the changes that come with this update, it is not possible to theme most of the interface. As such, the donation app is required in order to get an AOSP look. To install Simplistic Framework follow these steps :
Install the Rom normally without ticking the 'Latest Simplistic Framework' in the Aroma installer
Once the installation is done and the rom is set up, reboot into recovery
Open the Project AOSP installer, disable all options and enable 'Latest Simplistic Framework'.
Once booted again, your phone should be running the latest Simplistic Framework.
Making Simplistic Framework 3.5.1 look like AOSP
1. Change signal colors to #ff009dcd and tick "always use custom signal colors"
2. From "Expanded Statusbar" tick "Hide No Notifications Text", "Hide Ongoing Label" and "Hide Notifications Label"
3. From "Statusbar Toggles" change "Toggles Colors" Toggles On : #ffffffff and Toggles Off : #ff7e7e7e
4. Also change the Status Bar Toggles Background to Black.
Installing SuitUP Theme
Install the Rom normally without ticking the 'SuitUP Theme' in the Aroma installer
Once the installation is done and the rom is set up, reboot into recovery
Open the Project AOSP installer, disable all options and enable 'SuitUP Theme'.
Once booted again, your phone should be running SuitUP Theme.
The same process applies when installing SuitUP theme for the updated Simplistic Framework (Updated Simplistic Framework and SuitUP Theme can be installed at the same time as long as it is after the rom is booted up for the first time).
Using Per-App DPI
1. Install Xposed Framework through the Xposed installer app.
2. Go to the Modules tab and tick the box next to the entry.
3. Using the Xposed Settings app configure the DPI you want for each app.
Removing the Circle Battery Mod
This rom is running on Simplistic Framework, which gives it a bunch of features. Most of these features require the use of an app which the developer of Simplistic Framework (not me) gives to all users that donate to him. Using different batteries is one of these features and as such, unless you are capable of editing the mod yourself, you are required to donate to the developer in his thread to be sent the Simplistic Control app.
Good job man ;o) Fix the camera issue and will try this one right away
It's next on my priorities for the next update However for now you can simply use the Samsung Camera and it will work perfectly. I'll attach a zip file to install the Samsung Camera
Exellent work modstorm.
This is the kind of project I've long thought of it but I could not because I did not realize that the programmer. The only thing I would suggest: that theme and rom installation package is one and not two, and that the status bar is transparent, like MIUI ROMs (black box with an icon of time, battery and signal strength to be transparent as the background-wallpaper.

Greetings.
Thanks, I'll considering combining the 2 packages in future updates
