The newest Netflix app works fine without workarounds in 7.2. I was using it myself not too long ago. That Xposed hack wasn't made to work on Gingerbread since there is no need for it. What device are you using? Dinc?

Can confirm with the newest Netflix update that the workaround still works. It should continue to work fine until they decide to drop Gingerbread support well into the future.

Recently found out that this wouldn't work on CM10 (android 4.1). So, I modified the workaround.apk to work on it as well.

Guess what???

Well, thanks to Entropy512's help, I was able to modify his Xposed hack to work on CM10 (based on Android 4.1) and CM10.1 (based on Android 4.2) for the Incredible. Using the newest Netflix app and it's working well without issue. It's easy to install. You just need two files:

Xposed Installer:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/c57cbz2pjoayj4l/XposedInstaller_2.1.3.apk

XposedCM10-10.1 Netflix Hack:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/d5ifqqwh0zylj5g/XposedCM10-10.1NetflixWorkaround-Dinc.apk

In order to install:

1. Download both files to the root directory of your SD Card. Install the Xposed Installer apk
2. Once Installed, open it up. Press the Install/Update button to install the Xposed Framework. Allow Superuser Permissions. Once it's done, reboot.
3. Install the Xposed Netflix Workaround apk.
4. Open up the Xposed Installer and select the Modules button. You should see the Xposed Netflix Workaround option. Tap the checkbox. Reboot.
5. Open up Netflix. Enjoy.

The background of the app will be white, which is weird, but video will work.

Tested on Tiny's CM10 and CM10.1 ROM, as well as Neo's Infection CM10.1 ROM. Also tested on Zach's P.A.C.Man [Paranoid+AOKP+CM10] ROM. I don't see why it wouldn't work on other ROMs based on Jelly Bean, but I can't guarantee that it will unless other testers come forward.

About 95% of the credit goes to Entropy512, so be sure to thank him in this thread:

I was previously running CM 7.0-Encore on my NC. Yesterday I flashed CM 10.1 RC 4-Encore and was quite disappointed that I could not use Netflix so I returned it to 7.0. I then read about this workaround and decided to give it a try. Today I re-flashed CM 10.1 RC4-Encore and just now downloaded both files. I followed instructions as stated and guess what? NETFLIX WORKS!!! Thanks to all the devs who made my NC purr nicely with Jelly Bean and a functional Netflix app. You guys are the BEST!!!

Netflix hasn't worked on JB or ICS. Known issue since day one. Probably won't be fixed as it's not a high priority in the overall picture.

    ...sorry...I was on the phone...

Well, that's disappointing. I really like this this rom but Netflix was one of the biggest reasons to keep using this device. It's mainly used as a tablet now and I don't want to buy anything else right now. Funny thing, Netflix was the only reason I didn't switch from Windows 7 to Linux. I figure, if I'm paying them every month, I should be able to play their vids on any device I please and it irks me that I can't even get it working in the android browser. Oh well. Thanks for the quick response.

EDIT: Well, I did some research and found that Netflix 1.81 seems to work to an extent. I get sound and subtitles but no video. Going to look into it some more.

It works on better supported devices on ICS and JB. The issue here is the codecs and hardware support / drivers which will not be fixed for now. Just confirming its not androids fault or Netflix's.

Here you go. Says It's using Player 9. I have read that 10 is the newest player. At least I believe so.

Edit: just checked that file on 10.1. It says player 10. That means it switched when I signed back in.
Hmm, if you edit that file back to 9 and open Netflix does it work?

I completely understand. You do a phenomenal job developing for the Inc. Thanks for all you do

Theres a workaround if you look above meaning less need to get Netflix working properly.
