Default Segoe UI (Zune HD/WP7 font) update.zip

I missed the Zune font I had on my Nexus One and I generally prefer the look of the Segoe UI on mobile devices - Microsoft spent some good money on this particular font design. I've had this update.zip for a while and it works perfectly on 2.3. IMHO, the font looks gorgeous on this 4" SAMOLED display. I think you might agree.

Download to root of SD card, and flash in recovery (yes you need to be rooted/have custom recovery). Make a Nandroid before you apply so you can easily switch font back. Enjoy!

Screenshots added. Sorry, forgot that everyone might now know what the font looks like...

Awesome thanks for this I love that font! Quick Question though, what does it take to get a font like Myriad ported over to be usable on 2.3 ?

Should we rename to update.zip and flash as an update? Obviously utilizing clockwork 3.0...

Same here. I just adb pushed to /system/font.
Looks good.

no need to rename the zip or disable sig verification. You may have to mount /system before flashing, however.

ranxoren, to get different fonts into the phone, just do as ^above and push the fonts directly into /system. Back up your old ones just in case. Most opentype fonts should work, but you might be missing some special characters. Myriad should be okay though.

I cannot get this to work either way. First I mounted /system then flashed and still got installation aborted. Then I extracted both .ttf files and did "adb push DroidSans.ttf /system/font" and pushed both files this way. Then I rebooted and nothing changed.

I noticed there are other font files in these folders, should I delete them or is it simply something I'm missing?

What memo app is that?

And, is it just me or does his screenshots show the normal stock font? I compared with my Nexus S, even typed out his example text, it's exactly the same.
Only difference I can see is the P loop is bigger, the & sign the bottom loop is bigger, and the top of t is different. other than that looks almost exactly the same.
