Dumb question, but when it comes to flashing things on my devices, I always take the side of caution.

I've only been flashing custom roms since I got the device and now on ViperXL JB. Do these roms come with the updated firmware for the screen built in? I couldn't find anything in the Viper thread and I'm having issues with screen response and it going haywire sometimes. Is there a way to verify the firmware we already have on our devices? Thanks in advance.
Current:

Bell HTC One M7_UL
TrickDroid 5.1.0
JB 4.1.2

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Ripper ROM V3
JB 4.1.2

Yes. Go to bootloader and make sure your Hboot's version is not 2.14. if it is, your touch firmware is upgraded.

Cool, thanks! Followup question, if I did apply this update, it doesn't affect the current HBOOT, correct? I'm sitting on 1.09 at the moment. Thanks again.

It appears this fix is just updating (downdating? ;]) the "tp" firmware component and not touching the hboot. The reason the posts refers to Hboot 2.14 is that is what most people will recognise if they took the JB OTA. The "tp" firmware is the actual important bit that got updated with the OTA but it's version is not readily displayed anywhere.

Short answer. No, this doesn't affect hboot at all. As you're on Hboot 1.09 chances are your "tp" firmware is still the original AOSP compatible version anyway and you don't need this fix.

Thanks for the clarification. I've been having some wonky screen issues lately and i was curious if this update would help with it. I only ever run Sense roms anyways, so it should be okay regardless. Just wanted to cover my bases. Thanks again

If you are running CM10.1 and your touch screen works then you do not need to install any fixes.
