I unlocked my 64mb xda yesterday - and I thought I'd better share my experiences, as nobody has mentioned the proceedure and honest experiences at length!

Xda details
ROM 3.14.13 ENG
ROM date 10/09/02
Radio version 4.08
Protocol version 32554

The manipulator and serial hotsync lead from Expansys did its job easily,
It was a bit Touch and go, I did panic slightly when I wasnt able to restart the xda afterwards ( dark screen, o2 logo and nothing happening, no reaction with the power button, or soft reset!)

Basically you need to remove the sim and replace it, then reset a couple of times. This is a real pain in the bum if you;re using/ have to use an external battery, in fact this would make sim swapping very awkward!

I even had to do a hard reset as well to get it going properly.
As someone mentioned - this process is not for the feint of heart!

Make sure you back it all up first, synchronise your xda with your pc, as the sd restore didnt work for me as the file was too large (greater than 55megs)

My main reason for this is that the O2 network is virtually unusable at home, so its nice to switch networks when required.
