Default Using an XDA to log temperatures

Hi,
another "has anyone tried" question to which the answer is no, because you need an XDA II. However, what do people think about using an XDA II to report on the temperature using a Bluetooth temperature probe which would sit in a fridge <10m from the XDA which would be left in the cradle.
Can the XDA be programmed to log the tempeature at regular intervals (every 5-10 minutes) then send any warnings in to a server via GPRS.
Does this sound impossibly ambitious? Has anyone done anything similar with an XDA + serial port?
Thanks in advance
Jon

There's boards that will connect to a cheap GSM phone on one side, and a number of analog and digital inputs and outputs on the other. Usually they send SMS when inputs exceed certain tresholds, but there may be a GPRS solution too by now.

If I get you one of these, can I have the XDA II ?

These sound great ! Where can I get them? SMS is fine, just so long as it works !

As for the XDA II we will still need that for other projects - hard luck
