The problem is that the XDA/MDA bluetooth stack doesn't support PAN (personal area networking). When the stack is sorted out then you only need a cheap class 2 bluetooth USB dongle and drivers to make this work.

I Have a Sandisk SD WiFi card, but as this kills the battery at home i use my laptop with built in WiFi and Bluetooth, I put my Laptop in the room where i am sitting, and then activesync over bluetooth, and surf the net thatway, the range is not bad, much better than the BT headset (jabraBT200) And of corse this way there is nothing sticking out the top ready to be snaped off, and the battery lasts much longer,

I will of keep the SD WiFi Card as there are also many times when i need it, But for home use as soon as they sort the PAN profile i will get a BT acess point

hi,

thanks for your answers!!!

@sweeney
Are you know if it possible to update the mda-II with the needed PAN support? If it is a microsoft-update or comes it from HTC or from anyone else?

@applecom
looks that we have the same configuration, i´m also use the sandisk wlan card but it takes to much battery power! But your idea with the activesync i like very well ... how you have to setup activesync to use bluetooth?
Are you useing the cheap "class 2 bluetooth USB dongle" sweeney spoke about or anything else?

No official support yet, but there is some sign of promise on this board that the WIDCOMM stack can be tweaked to work on the MDA/XDA and is known provide PAN, serial etc.
