I could be mistaken, but I think this tool only makes the extended ROM visible through the registry key change.

For some reason my upgrade to the 1.60 ROM (tmobile-NL) did not lock the extended ROM. Who knows which upgrade did change a writeable extended ROM into a write-protected one? So we can make this a reproduceable exercise.

You are right, my Tool change only the appropriate Registry entry - it is no matter whether the Extended ROM is write protected or not.
I have a pilot lots MDA II, with which the German update remains hanging with Extended ROM. Before the update the Extended ROM was not write protected. Now it is write protected and the files are not useful
I could try everything out with my MDA II - perhaps we get the writing protection again away - any ideas?
