Default Bluetooth Internet Access using iMate / XDA II -Dongle on PC

G'day All,

Has anyone had any luck setting up a BT dongle on their XP machine to allow internet access from an XDA II (iMate)?

I've tried all the logical things... Paired the two machines - I'm using the Widcomm stack on the XDA II and am using "Internet Access via BT" profile.. and both the PD and XDA II have static IPs on the same subnet...

Not really sure what I've missed?!

Cheers
Andy

Default BT networking

I am also using Widcomm BTW 1.3.2.7. I can setup the activesync via BT. However, I could not use Network Access, File Transfer. The Widcomm software could not find the XDA II when I click Network Access. Also, I could not map the PC drive by Resco Explorer.

Anyone get some tutorial or step by step instruction for the setup of BT networking on XDA II. I can find some for H2210, but XDA II didn't got the bluetooth manager and connection manager. The interface is also different.

Where did you get the WIDCOMM stack for the Xda II? DO you have some other services running via the bluetooth stack of WIDCOMM?

Have you tried the Xda II bluetooth utility from http://bluetooth.i-networx.de ?

I've successfully accessed the Internet through a Bluetooth dongle on my XP machine. The situation is similar to accessing the Internet via ActiveSync when the XDA II is docked on its cradle. I used the ActiveSync profile of the Bluetooth dongle. Then I set ActiveSync to allow serial cable connection from the Bluetooth dongle's serial port (created by the ActiveSync profile). After that, I paired the dongle with my XDA II. That's all I did and I could access the Internet whenever I sync via Bluetooth.

I also tried to set up a Bluetooth network between my XDA II and my desktop PC. But it seemed that the XDA II doesn't have the Bluetooth profile for Network Access nor for File Access. I would be very glad to be proven wrong.

In fact, I want to setup TV streaming in my house. Besides, I want to retrieve the MP3 file/video on demand. Using activesync could not do this, is there anyone sucessfully using widcomm stack to networking with XDA II via network access
