It has only 64 meg of ram, that is a strange way to go if it wants to go up against the xda2.

I have an ipaq 5450 which strangely enough has a sim card holder beneath the battery, also they have reduced the sound volume level availability, I think there maybe an upgrade path to gsm/gprs soon, or maybe they were testing the tooling for a future run of ipaq cell phones. I think the volume has been lowered so it doesnt destry an eardrum if the phone is answered when on maximum.

well there were alot of pictures of the supposed hp5600 unit which were the 5500 with a larger antenna and had gsm and such
but hp cancel'd it

since it had a bigger antenne i doubt a 5500 could ever be upgraded just like that

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?...rtner=register

here some info is

but latest new seem to show that hp may be back in the cellphone market

If they want to try and entice me away from my XDA II then they had better put a compact flash slot in as well as an SD slot!, i'm getting fed up with bluetooth connections to my GPS!

Cant really use the backpack with a CF GPS as it would place it upside down at the bottom of the unit, not good for signal reception!

i doubt it would matter much
not sure about that CF gps thing
but turning a wireless device upside down should
not ruin the reception too much
