Default XDA2 Customization Settings

Hi,

I want to start thread to discuss some of the customization settings that are used by different extended ROMs provided by the OEMs.

One of those settings I am curious about is

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\CellBroadcast]
"Language"=dword:00000001

On the German O2 ROM this is set to 0. On T-Mobile NL and Qtek this is set to 1.

What is CellBroadcast? Probably this corresponds to the "Broadcast Channels" setting in "Settings=>Phone=>More"?

Some settings that are also quite interesting are located in the TM_phone_class10.cab file of the T-Mobile NL extended ROM:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction]
"EnableCPHSONS"=dword:00000001
"GPRSAuthenticationSlot"=dword:0000000a
"Class0SMSRoute"=dword:00000001
"CSDISDNEnable"=dword:00000001
"CBSTName"=dword:00000000
"CBSTSpeed"=dword:00000047
"CBSTCe"=dword:00000001
"GPRSAuthenticationMethod"=dword:00000001
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"Flags2"=dword:00000008
"Group"=dword:00000000

Does anyone no something about these settings?

"Flags2"=dword:00000008 = button disconnect on bubble conection
"Flags2"=dword:00000010 = button disconnect and time con. on bubble connection

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction]
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000001 = search GPRS on connection
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000000 = search GPRS on radio on

I had to generate a personally rom for a customer project and found there a file where is an CM_Entries.xml in there, makes some configuration for WAP, GPRS and so on.

How does it work?
why so complicated?
Why not easy writing some keys to the registry with an cab manager like http://www.ocpsoftware.com/products.php?nm=cecabmgr?

whatfor is the CHECKFILE.EXE and the CESetup.dll ?
how are these files conected together?

Does anybody of you know??
