I got it working again... (wasnt straightforward, importing the file as is gave me probs, so had to cut/paste).

Strange thing is that I now have bought a new XDA2, and when I did a fresh install of ZenPhone on it, I experienced same problem.

I am using the 3.4 version you uploaded in this forum (last week sometime)

Version 3.4 is working great, as I said I installed it as an upgrade to the version 3.2.

The system sometimes is slow, but just guessing is this about PocketZenPhone or Dashboard. But I think the last one. Maybe you should try it and see how the system bahave with the two programs together.

Do you have in future releases some ideas a capability of changing ringtones from other folders/directories then just the default one(Windows\ringtones).

Notification combo filled problem

A question for those who don't have the notifications combo filled.
When you install PZP 3.4 did you go to the settings through the settings->today->item->PZP->options at least the first time ?
Did you have the question "It is the first time you install PZP wuold you like to keep your old settings' ?
If you don't do that PZP is not well initialized.

As the access from the today screen is available since the version 3.3, in the 3.2 you were obligated to go to the settings through settings->today->item ...

Am I right ? Is it why you don't have the notifcation filled ? could you try ?

To answer Gatekop, really I don't see how PZP could slow down the pocket as it doesn't run any process in the background. It has just an effect when you click on it. Apart that it sleeps

I looked that but if I am right if you add a ring with the standard settings (settings page -> add ring tone) it simply copy the wav in the windows\ring folder ... so no interest to look in other folder ...

Yes that's right, but as I love order on my PDA, something like having sounds in My documents folder, then some music wma files that I want to use as ringtones in different - My music folder and so on ... the feature I was asking about would be really recommended.

I just don't like the idea having some music wma files in Rings folder and My music folder as duplicate.

What do you think?

@Gatekop: Isn't it possible to save all your rings in the windows/rings folder and not in your mydocuments/mymusic? That would make also order in your PDA!
How did you solve the problem with the notifications then? It also look only in the /windows folder doesn't it?

@Gatekop and Zendrui: We talked about this before I think (Lots of posts ago) but there we found out that that would be the best option to keep it like this. Reason for that is that there can be very much wav's and other files on your pda, just take a look at the Start --> Settings --> Add Ringtone... Al the files shown right there will be shown in the drop down menu of PZP! I think that would be very unusefull and that would cause less and less order.

@Zendrui: Did you already find some time to check the new version on an XDA 2? Or don't you have one available? Maybe I can do some tests for you? You can always mail me with some file (or PM).

And when I want to set for my ringtone something like AC/DC Big Gun? I would then have 1 track in rings folder and one in music/ACDC folder?
I think a browse option will do great, something like setting special music files like wav, mid or why not wma (and perhaps mp3 in the future) as a ringtone.

Don't think we understand each other right. I mean where do you save your notifications sounds?? Because your OS reads them only from your /Windows folder. Sounds anywhere else won't be shown!! So, saving your sounds in the My Documents/My Music folder is useless, because your OS doesn't read them there!!

So, that is the question! Because to add this feature, Zendrui has to enable all the folders on your PPC, because you saved them in My Music, Someone else made a folder Tones and saved all the music right there! So that would be useless.

So please check this back, because your OS doesn't support this as well.

See above! I don't mean many folders, but just save them in Windows/Rings and your notifications in /Windows and all your problems are gone! You should already have done, because your OS wants you to do that too!

I also hat this problem! i installed zenphone on an new device and at the first start the settings message did not appear!
as i did not know how to solve it i deinstalled the program and reinstalled it. then it worked.....

You are right Zen! I had this problem once. After that I installed again (same version) and went to the settings page through the regular way and everything was ok! After that I was thinking about what I did and the thing you mentioned is what I did.
