GSM data not included in my 200 minutes on an O2 contract
I've got an XDA2 on O2s 200 minute tariff. I bought it from The Link, so my contract is with Genesis rather than with O2. I've just got my first bill in and it looks like I've been charged ~£7 for GSM data calls (use default number to connect). I was told at the shop I bought it from that GSM data would be included in my 200 minutes of pre-paid airtime, but Genesis are saying that this isn't the case.
Is this right? Is there any way to set up the phone to get emails using a non GSM data connection - as a fairly slow analogue modem say - and connect using another ISP so I won't get ripped off by O2/Genesis? There's no way I'm going to use up my 200 minutes on voice calls and I can't change my tariff for another three months. Would my best bet be to use GPRS instead? Any one know how the O2 GSM vs. GPRS costs compare?
Currently feeling very annoyed by O2.
Cheers,
Phil.
