Activesynch hangs @91%

EVENING ALL..
been doing quite a bit of work on both the phone and laptop... no complaints at all.. but this morning the ActiveSync didnt work.. so i uninstalled and reinstalled it again.. hoping that itd get back to place.. but while installing from CD or HD it stops @ 91%. says wceusbsh.cab file is not being read..! took it to the system administrator.. removed all entries from registry... and modified the evnt viewer as well.. everythng in vain..
the last retort is to take the back up of my comp.. and reinstall OS.. but is there anything i can do to avoid it..?

i presume you are using winXP and Outlook ?

if the sync hangs do ctrl-alt-delete and cancel all processes called outlook.exe

that solved the problem for me.

Outlook is a memory hog..

inf/pnf files is the problem

hi dvl,
i did finally get the solution for it..!
had to delete all inf/pnf files from the windows/inf directory and reinstall.... viola successful...
if anyone else faces the same problem... do drop in a line for details
