Default Dialer skin

Where can I find or make my own dialer skins? On the upgrade in the o2 active you have the ability to change dialer skins, but I can't seem to find where they are located.

Sorry zabes where are you referring to in the ability to change dialer skins?

On the XDA II I think the dialer sking is a collection of a dozen of so *.jpg files that live in the windows directory.

Default Dialler Skin

Hullo,

Here's two of my Dialler Skins made using some excellent wallpaper from the net and V2R's Skin Creator.

Free to all, you will need to install the PSK Installer.exe from http://www.ppc-club.com/

Have Fun

I'm not sure if the PSK Installer can handle depressed buttons. For unknown reasons, Microsoft decided to store the skin as a set of image files - except for the depressed key, which is a resource inside a DLL. I made two DLLs for two of the better known skins. If you have access to a resource editor, you can change those to whatever you want.

This issue has been discussed in this forum earlier, use the Search feature to find the thread. And here's the URL to my two DLLs (sorry, German only): http://www.tadzio.com/ppc/index.html

Cheers

YUP! Your depressed buttons dlls are also really good but I'm glad you popped in to make them known again.

My choice is the Candy red DLL for these skins really as it really makes the skins look good on the device.

Maybe you can help me to design some more depressed buttons in different shapes, let me show you what I mean...

In the attached image, you can see the round buttons, the problem here is that the depressed button dlls are the normal round corner rectangle shape, which makes the skin look less good on the device.

I can certainly help you, but you can also do that yourself. You need to find a program that can edit resources inside an executable file (DLL counts as executable). Many Borland IDEs can do that, as well as Visual Studio. I'm sure there are other resource editors as well, I just don't know them.

So, all you need to do is open the only bitmap resource in one of my DLLs, edit it, then write it back to the DLL.

Again, if you want me to, I can also help you and put some images into a DLL. Just email me the images (as BMP files).

Cheers

Got the PE Explorer resource editor which is nice.

Extracted your candy red icon file, now I just need a nice icon maker! haha

I also found that you if clear the registry setting for the depressed button, then the phone skin won't show any depressed state, while not as pretty as the depressed button it's another option.

asking people for seriel nr.s in this forum is bad taste since many people who come her make programs and you just might end up asking people if they got a seriel so you can nick their software :P

if you use yorch's skin chooser then the skins must be put in
the dir called skin in the path you have installed the program
hhhmm ok i may be a jerk but i'm a jedi jerk like my father was before me
