Default Adapter to allow charging of XDA II backpack

I was wondering if you hardware gurus out there were able to make an adapter that plugged into the port on the XDA II back pack and then accepted the standard XDA II USB charger plug so that the back pack could be charged separate from the XDA II itself.

Anyone?

What port is on the back pack. Is it juts a two pole jack plug the same as the XDAII Sync Cradle? If so why not use the supply from that?

The port is the female equivalent of the internal bus port positioned below the battery of the XDA II. You can see it when you remove the battery cover on the rear of the unit.

It is very different that the USB port at the base of the XDA II.

Ah sorry, I had imagined that it would also have a seperate charge jack on the rear in the same way that the dual PCMCIA backpacks jackets for the iPAQ's used to have to allow charging of their internal battery.

Yeah I wish! I used to have one of those iPAQ jacket/sleeves too and it was good to be able to charge them separate from the iPAQ.

So that's the main downside I have with the backpack. I love the unit, the presentation software works REALLY well, but I have to have it fitted to my XDA II to charge it.

I guess if I had a wrecked XDA II I could use the internal socket and make up and adpater. Perhaps in the next model?
