external serial port problem

i´m trying to connect a rs232 gps in my XD2 ( rom 1.72). But as soo n as the pda receive data from the external serial port, the PDA "gets crazy" (dial application appears, there are some sounds, ....) it is like the pda thinks that an external keyboard with crazy data is attached. After a full reset, the same problem. I do not have an external keyborad or drivers , etc. I turn IR off, radio off, the same problem. The GPS application is able to receive data but the "dial application" always appears ...

OI´connecting only RX,TX and GND, as explained in the "connector" page in this web.

The fatc is that as soon as the serial port receive data, the pda gets "crazy".

Any idea?

I was using pin 2 for GND, but if I use other GND pin , work with no problem. Conclusion is that pin 2 is a reference not valid for rs232 port. Hope can help !
