a newer version of the firmware is now available!

pre-rooted 6.2.B.0.211

[ info ]

Hello friends,

so friends after numerous leaks here is the official Sony JB ROM firmware 6.2.B.0.200 for the Xperia S (LT26i)... this will also work on the Xperia SL (LT26ii)...

This can be flashed using ANY recovery!!! on BOTH LOCKED AND UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER supported!!!

here is the build.prop of this ROM:

[ screenshots ]

PLEASE DO NOT CROSSFLASH THIS ROM... this is ment only for LT26i/LT26ii (Xperia S/SL)... please do not flash it on LT26w/LT28/etc....

[ features ]
  1. Easy to flash via recovery
  2. Prerooted (SuperSU v1.30) and busybox (1.20.2) installed
  3. working STOCK KERNEL

[ requirements ]
  • BOTH LOCKED & UNLOCKED bootloader!
  • previously on stock .45/.50/.55 ICS ROM or roms based on that [since baseband of the official JB ROM is same as ICS ]
  • supplied ROM
  • any existing recovery!

[ how to install ]
  1. download the ROM and save it on SDCARD
  2. reboot device into recovery
  3. make sure that the /system partition is unmounted, i have noticed that in some kernels the /system partition remains mounted
  4. flash the ROMs (this will take some time)
  5. thats it now reboot device!!
  6. at first boot device will reboot once after bootanimation thats expected
  7. next boot will take a long time!!!
  8. it might happen that in after some reboots u get a "flashing firmware screen" thats ok.. let it complete... DO NOT DISTURB WHILE THAT PROCESS IS GOING ON!!!
  9. after a few reboots the ROM should stabilize!
  10. enjoy!

[ want a more powerful kernel with recovery? ]

For now this is only for unlocked bootloaders: DooMKernel

[ want stock kernel with recovery? ]

For unlocked bootloaders: Flash this kernel

For LOCKED bootloaders: Flash this recovery package

Get into recovery and see. if /system is mounted, unmount it first!.
If it isn't mounted mount and unmount

The trick is that if it can't mount then it will fail with error 7. So if you can't mount and unmount don't flash DoomLord's Rom yet

You need the FIXED recovery that DoomLord uploaded.

Now we have to fix the script DoomLord uploaded. Download DoomLord's fixed recovery and right click the install.bat file and select edit.
Near the end of the file there is the line that says reboot. erase that line!!

It seems there are times the reboot is too fast and the recovery install is interrupted. So we will have to reboot the phone manually.

Now save the file and run it. As you can see in the script's last lines they begin with the word su. That means it is asking for root. If your phone has root there is a chance a dialog appears asking for permission. say yes!!! if it doesn't ask maybe a toast message will appear saying "shell has been granted root permissions"

Anyway you should be checking your phone's screen constantly

If you see either the toast or dialog then we are fine to reboot and it will automatically enter recovery. repeat step 1 to verify if you can mount and unmount /system.

If you didn't see any of those then you might not have root and need to root first!

If after all this you can mount and unmount /system then you shouldn't have trouble to flash just remember to unmount /system before flashing the room.

That's it good luck.

Click thanks if I helped you.

i talked to customer service of SONY in Greece and they told me that 1080p video has "no problem" (?????????) after i insisted they told me to do a clean install and if it will not work to send the phone to them and they will see what to do! my opinion is that probably they know well the problem and they try to earn some time before everybody sends back his phone (to expire some warranties) or to root our phones and void the warranties, so they have as less as possible losses! i cannot imagine anything else.

Thanks in advance for this. I'm going to install on my locked XPS. I'm not unlocking it until the warranty runs out.
