This thread's purpose is to provide easy access to all your favorite development projects available on your Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 and probably even more importantly, keep you updated with the latest updates and new releases! I will do my best to do my best to update new release dates but links will still redirect you to the rom your looking for. But this isn't simply your average directory, this includes tweaks and apps from all across XDA - and even my own personal recommendations, always kept up to date with my own personal rom/kernel/tweaking/modded setup for those who are interested.
I do not take any responsibility for whatever may happen to your device, your computer, your chair, or that little green android guy under your desk, doing god knows what, when flashing/using any of these. Everything that's found in the Sprint S4 forums is listed here and you shouldn't worry about anything bad happening using those, just read the directions carefully - even read through the thread, MAYBE (sarcasm), before asking a question that has already been asked or answered in the OP.
BUT many many universal android tweaks are listed here, be very careful using these and be EXTRA careful when reading as there is sometimes different steps/requirements for different types of devices. Due to the large amount of tweaks available, I personally have not been able to test every single one just yet, but I will give help to whomever needs it and verify what I myself have tried and used and my experiences with whatever it may be.
AGAIN... Please be sure to READ.. READ.. and READ again before you do anything to your device! I am not the developer of any of these delicious android goodies, so be responsible with your device. Look further down for my own setup if you want somewhere to start. Happy flashing friends!
Is this your first Android phone? Or just getting a brand new shiny Samsung Galaxy S4? Or just want to get some refreshment on the world of XDA with all it's terms like modems, kernels, roms, flashing, rooting? Or do you just want to see how to root the latest firmware update? If so STOP HERE and go check Post #2 for a collection of guides and explanations on all of these things before tackling this massive list of amazing development from your friendly XDA developers!
Please let me know if I'm missing anything on the Sprint forums, if you've found something for another device that's compatible with ours, or if you just found something substantially badass enough that works on our phones. I'll gladly throw it on the list once it is/I check that it is verified that it works with our device!
AND also be sure to leave a post with any suggestions or just simple thanks posts to keep this up at the top so everyone can keep up with the latest development!
AND be sure to hit THANKS for me scouring in and around XDA daily to keep all you fellow S4 owners up to date with the latest and greatest!
In this second half of my post, I will provide a list of guides on a variety of topics on the GS4 as well as Android in general. I will also include my favorite games that I recommend everyone tries out as well as some of my favorite apps covering a wide range so everyone might be able to find something new they'd enjoy - you'll find the best in my opinion here. And to top it all of I will share an in-depth look at what tweaks, mods, etc., I use and recommend personally from the giant list above. In addition I will also finally be releasing my heavily tweaked Ktweaker profile for maximum battery. And soon enough, I will be releasing my rom soon enough that will include everything in one delightful package so look out for that! So grab a cup of coffee, take a seat, and have a read!
New to Android or XDA? Check out this amazing all in one guide on EVERYTHING Android and all of the assorted terms used with it here on XDA - kernels, governors, flashing, schedulers, roms, recoveries rooting, etc. Whether you are just getting started with messing around with the endless capabilities of Android and having trouble understanding anything your reading in the forums, especially in the development ones, OR you just need a refresher or want to learn something new, this is the place to go.
This profile uses Ktoonservativeq/SIO and focuses on providing the best possible battery life without causing any lag throughout the system. The GPU/CPU are UV'ed quite aggressively but not enough to be causing any reboots - the CPU with this profile maxes out at 1134mhz and GPU at 320mhz so you can get away lower voltages easier. Anyways, I have Options NOT Set on Boot, just you can test it out a bit before setting it on boot yourself. This profile only utilizes two cores, with the second one only coming on online for the absolute shortest time possible when it is needed. This thing is an absolute beast idling as well.
These set of settings will essentially make your battery life melt away slower than a glacier in the Artic... PRE-global warming!
This profile also utilizes my favorite TCP Congestion Algorithm, "lp", that was just added to the kernel. It results in a stronger connection between an app and a host as seen by fewer timeouts, lost connections, and more responsive web browsing overall.
Just a little sneak peek at how amazing the battery life is with these settings! Take note this is with a ZeroLemon 7500mah battery (highly recommended for those seeking an extended battery) but 3 hours 15 minutes screen time at less than 20% battery lost is pretty nuts! Even though it is a 7500mah my experience with is that it lasts a little more than twice as long as stock so with a stock battery you should be getting roughly 6 hours screen time - I will upload stock battery screenshots once my battery final dies and I can start a full cycle haha!
Here are some apps you may or may not already know about but all of these I find incredibly useful/awesome and highly recommend them!
Buzz Launcher - "Buzz Launcher is the new concept launcher that enables you to apply shared Homescreens to your own smartphone. With Buzz Launcher, you can freely download, apply, customize, share, and even create Homescreens! Download Homescreens best suited for your taste, innovate your smartphone, and share your awesome Homescreen layouts with others! Buzz Launcher Homescreens are extremely easy to apply instantly! Ultimate Custom Widget - "Make your own widgets easily in a WYSIWYG (What-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor. Use custom layout, fonts, images, shapes, interesting objects like series clocks, weather information with icons, unread sms and gmail counts, battery information with bars and pie graphs, analog clocks, TASKER VARIABLES and more. Use hotspots to assign actions to widget. Does not require programming, editing xml files or rooting your phone. Share your creations easily either through uzip files or make apks and post on Google play. Or keep your unique widgets to yourself and tease others."
OnLive - "OnLive cloud gaming is a revolutionary new concept in video games that instantly delivers the latest top-tier high-performance games on demand through the Internet to your Android tablet or phone with the simplicity of streaming video."
Battery Calibration - "Calibration needs to be done after flashing a new ROM, but you can calibrate any time you think your battery is miscalibrated. This program does it by removing the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon, thus any fake information from the previous ROM is removed."
OfficeSuite Pro 7 - "Made by MobiSystems, OfficeSuite Pro allows you to view, create, edit, print and share Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the go. You can also open attachments and see PDF files on an Android based phone or tablet with our feature-rich mobile office solution."
Splashtop Remote Desktop HD - "This is the ONLY remote desktop app that streams the whole PC or Mac screen to your Android tablet with smooth, high-res video and audio, allowing you to interact with your all applications, games, multimedia content, and files over Wi-Fi and 3G/4G networks. GO EVERYWHERE WITH JUST YOUR ANDROID DEVICE WITHOUT HAVING TO CARRY YOUR COMPUTER!"
Greenify - "Greenify help you identify and put the misbehaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in an unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground, similar to iOS apps!"
Titanium Backup - "You can backup, restore, freeze (with Pro) your apps + data + Market links. This includes all protected apps & system apps, plus external data on your SD card. You can do 0-click batch & scheduled backups. Backups will operate without closing any apps (with Pro). You can move any app (or app data) to/from the SD card. You can browse any app's data and even query the Market to see detailed information about the app."
Battery Stats Plus - "Battery Stats Plus detects and notifies battery draining apps. It collects and analyzes battery usage per app basic on your Android devices."

My girlfriend has an Iphone and will refuse to see the light even though she has yet to provide a single reason why it's better other than that the "cool celebrities" have one... So just had to throw this in for her!

Haha thank you!
Ah yes I have seen it, but no one, let alone garywn, hasn't posted in the thread since May 3rd (there was two questions posted actually a few days ago), so I wasn't sure if Garywn stopped working on it or if it was just a quiet thread. I'll be sure to throw it up then!
