Default SX66 - no SIM toolkit app :( -- please help :)

I recently bought a Siemens SX66, and much to my dismay there is no application for handling the SIM toolkit

I looked on Handago an PocketGear to see if I could buy something, but nothing came up. I looked at the XDA IIs firmware (from a cached page on google) and I see that they have a SIM toolkit application.

Is there any way to get this PPC application installed in my SX66?

Thank you

Admiral

AdmiralAK, try looking in the Windows directory for STK.exe -- it's there on my SX66. However, when I run it, it pops up with "Your SIM Card has no applications installed" -- that's probably why they don't put a shortcut in Programs.

So, what exactly is a SIM toolkit, and how does one put it onto the SIM?

A SIM toolkit is a set of applications (well..services) that the service provider provides. The SIM can be programmed by the provider to contain such services that their customers can access. These are usually delivered via SMS and you are charged a fee for using them.

SIM applications are widely used everywhere EXCEPT north america :)
These services vary.
Most basic services that most providers seem to have: horoscope, weather, news info, sports
Some more specialized: Secure banking, payments, chat, dating, ship & airplane schedules
