You can still use back O2 Connect. Just need to reinstall few of the O2 crap from your old Extended ROM. Had done that on mine, and now able to connect to O2 plus able to run O2 Plus without problem. Off hand I can't recall the exact .CAB file you need to install back. Just give it a try, install 1those .CAB file one after another and test the connection to O2. I didn't note down the exact step previously, thus can't give you the detail steps as how I manage to get it done on mine. Just damn lazy to do a hard reset and start from scratch again.

Oh, great, I will give it a try. Thanks a lot.

But I would also like to know, did you backup your original rom? If so, can I get a copy from you? I didn't back it up, and I found regret about it. Thanks !

I have a similar problem. I think it was because I forgot to patch the operator code. Can anybody tell me the operator code of O2 xdaII mini?
