Default texting keypad

im not really that familiar with computers and such so i really don't want to install unofficial roms or software upgrades in my xdaII. I saw this screenie of this cool texting keypad that comes along with the software upgrade. Is there a way that I can install this keypad layout withour having to upgrade my whole ppc software?

thanks.

oh gawd, texting with one hand in my xdaII will be soo cool!

It does work well with the XDAII... However, there is some incompatibility with some applications (i.e. SBP Pocket Plus and Pocket Weather) that causes the pad to stop functioning and sometimes a soft-reset will fix it for awhile but sometimes not even a soft-reset fixes things.

I'm still trying to figure out which other apps do not work with Intellipad (Phonepad).

So, your best bet will be to try it without any third party apps installed. Oh, by the way, this application was developed by HTC, the same guys who developed our beloved devices...

Good luck...

I had wondered why my 2i's intellipad disappears and the whole input side of things goes screwy.
