Yes, it should be " boost_hold_cycles". Here's a few more you can set that should help with performance.

block_cycles_offline_screen_on = 22
block_cycles_raise_screen_on = 1
lockout_2nd_core_hotplug_screen_on = 1
sampling_rate = 15000

OK so on all profiles i have used the auio playback is very glitchy, some worse than others. I'm guessing this is because when the screen is off the processor is limited to save power. Now i know there is a setting in KTweaker that you change from a 0 to a 1 and it completely elimantes the problem, i think this basically stops it from limiting the cpu when audio is playing. This however makes my battery drain how it always has, is there a way of fixing this while still make good battery gains.

Maybe try locking 2 to 3 cores online when the screen is off and see if that helps.

This section all old or new test and experimental profiles will be deposited and accessed by anyone to try or test and provide feedback by PM to the respective profile creators.

This section covers preset scripts geared to help save battery and deliver performance on almost any available profile with or without an available script. These scripts also give users the ability to mix and match profiles with a wider variety of scripts of their own choosing which in-turn delivers the result they desire.
It is very important to read the description of each scripts before trying one as they contain important information to help have a successful experience.

Profiles not mention in the recommended list of each scripts are still ok to be used with any of the scripts providing you read the description before proceeding . Scripts marked with a ES (Energy Saveing) symbol means dureing my test run doing medium/heavy usage i was able to achieve screen usage times of 5 hours and higher. This does not guarantee same results for users but a guideline to follow and try.

I use the app Lux Autobrightness to set the screen brightness of my device. I find it helps to miminize power consumption used by the screen and taught of shareing my profile.

To use this profile just download it from the provided link below. Be sure to backup your current LUX profile settings. Useing a file manager,navigate to the "Lux" folder on your internal storage and rename your current profile to "lux_profiles.bak". Then move the downloaded profile to your "Lux Folder" and restore it from within the Lux app.

You may want to set your method of backlight adjustment to "ON WAKE" as i have or leave it to your own desire preference as their are 4 to choose from which can be found by running the Lux App settings wizard or by going into settings/brightness and chooseing one of the 4 prefered method of backlight adjustment.

ok, I have the verizon s4 running Hyerdrive RLS19. I followed the steps that are listed here for first choosing a script (Balanced Bull Reloaded) . It came up green to show that it will load on the next boot. I then chose Balanced Bull Reloaded profile. Rebooted my phone and allowed it to charge to 100%. I am still getting crappy battery life. I do have Greenify on my phone and damn near everything is under "Hibernate".

What could be the culprit to the crappy battery life?

Ok, I can't say 100% what is causing it but some of the things could be relating to the quality of chip in your device, some better than others meaning better heat management due to being able to handle Undervolting in that department.

Also a big factor would be apps consuming battery in the background unnecessary and the existence of long or frequent wakelocks. For this I recommend have a look with "betterbatterystats" . I'm using a module "Amplify" it takes care of all unnecessary wakelocks and turns off services that are safe to do so and help extend battery usage especially when not using the device. Also cuts the manual workarounds of guides posted allowing you to do the same thing with ease. Recommend getting the pro version.

Alas, to conserve that battery dispite my first paragraph. I recommend underclocking or find a profile thats underclocked the cpu like 3 bumps lower. If you not a powerhouse user then try profile "green" with script.

I'm looking for help in getting the ktgaming profile to produce less heat. I'm hooked on shadowgun deadzone and ktgaming is the only profile that really delivers the smoothness I want, but it also gets so hot that you don't want to hold the phone at the camera end.
this can't be good for the battery so I want any help or suggestions that stand a chance of running cooler while not taking too much away from the performance. by myself I have next to no clue about any of this stuff...

A few things you can try. Before you proceed know that with any device over-clocking will generate more heat. Ambient temperature will affect how cool your device stays. Needless to say if you are in a hot vs cold room or a room above comfort temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit expect slower heat reduction. The profile is set to maintain thermal throttling which reduces cpu max speed when temperature too high for safety and stability but can only do as much in the describe environment.

On to recommendations.
Alright first i know performance is a must but remember your CPU was design to operate at* a max clock speed of 1890mhz while its bumped up too 1998mhz which is not bad but not all device is the same.

I advice reducing the max clock speed to 1782 or one step lower and reducing the min cpu speed to 486mhz. This may affect performance slightly but may also help with the heat dispension.

Also disable "sync extra cores screen On". This feature helps in performance with the tweaking KT made in regulating the other 3 cores operating at same clock speeds speeding up tasks. In your case turning it off may allow those cores to operate at lower speed when not needed which will help reduce heat because of less power consumption.

I think those two things are your best bet on adjusting while staying on KT-Gaming profile without swaying too much from its purpose as a gaming profile.

Their are other performance profiles in the K-Tweaker Shop and in OP that you can also experiment with using for a few days and see how well they compare if nothing else works. Keep in mind the heat will not damage your camera or components in phone. Just don't have it plugged in on the charger while doing gaming cause then that's not good.

Hi guys. I could use some advice.. I've always been a CM user.. currently on CM12.1 with standard kernel, however, I have a problem and I'm looking for a solution. I get decent battery time most of the time.. unless I'm running the Uber Partner app. My battery dies even while charging in the car.. today I drove for 8 hours then had to head home cuz my battery died. So, I started thinking about changing the kernel and trying again (maybe something with fast charge? although I'm not sure how that works honestly).

So I figured I'd try the KT kernel. I downloaded the latest build KT-SGS4-LPS5.1-AOSP-INTL-04.06.2015.zip from here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2289140&page=324 then I did wipe dalvik/cache and fix permissions and got a System UI crash immediately. Now, I'm going back to stock CM12.1 kernel... anyone have any advice?

Ok seems you're looking to pro-long your battery life where you already have decent battery performance but due to the high power demand of "uber partner app" you can't get threw your daily routine even while charging.

Having it plug in while using the app won't help it charge faster nor using fast charge because the principle involving battery cells won't allow it. If anything your battery will go from warm to hot damaging the battery overtime because some of the cells will simply loose its charge or potential to hold a charge.

I recommend trying Franco "Per-App Modes" app which is found in the playstore. It will allow you to control how the CPU performs such as setting CPU clock speeds for the app you mention among controlling other things which may reduce power consumption and pro-long battery further.
Last resort you can get a second battery or if you want to avoid the hassle of swapping and don't mind the bulge go for an extended battery. It will get you threw the day.

thanks for the advice. I think i found a reasonable work-around. see I drive a minivan that has a power outlet in the back, so today I decided to rig up an extension cord that runs under my carpet to the front of the car where i have a regular charger (not microusb -> usb) plugged in. I still lose battery but much less than with the old usb -> power charger.

been tinkering with regard to getting the performance needed not to suck at SGDZ without the heat of ktgaming, I came up with an edited version of feed the machine v2 with just the main settings changed and a switch to userspace governor. so far it's been like butter so I thought I'd share it

I got the stuttering audio problem fixed on the Galaxy S4 M919 TMobile. It should work on the other ones too.

It would stutter with the screen off unless you go to the settings and re-tap on the governor you were using. This fix would last only until reboot which is a fix i found out how to do personally.

What I did was increased the "screen off mHz" to somewhere around 1,000 , set the "screen off governor" to a different one with higher performance (mine is "ondemand" with screen off set to "performance").
This also might help it to do the "re-tapping on the default governor being used after you reboot it" fix that I mentioned above. Not sure. It just sets the governor to a different one while the screen is off then sets it back again when you turn the screen on.
Also I read that changing the read-ahead values might help.
It all seems to be working now.
It was bugging me like crazy and I just had to post this. I know there are alot of people out there with a Galaxy S4 still and that love this kernel.
My IP/TCP congestion control is also set at "highspeed" .
