[Q] Updating the radio firmware
So I've heard that to be able to run Android 4.2 and up (Cyanogen 10.1 and up, to be honest), the One S needs a new radio firmware. Fair enough. My radio is 1.06, or so it says in the bootloader. The "About phone" menu says 1.08ts, for whatever reason... On this page (I'm not allowed to link, thanks lads) I'm seeing loads of radio versions. It makes sense to want the latest version.
So I tried a RUU that I think is right for my phone. Europe model, latest version. Doesn't work. The RUU updater doesn't say why - it just doesn't want to update. After the update, the boot process of cyanogen hangs, and I'm forced to restore a nendroid backup. After that, it works again, but the radio isn't updated, which is what I thought I needed in the first place.
Tried another version, a TMOUS version, cuz that's the one I might have with that 1.08ts radio version. Also doesn't work. Doesn't say why.
Then I tried the exact firmware version that the RUU updater reports that I have. Same problem, doesn't work. Doesn't say why.
How am I supposed to update the radio? What do I do?
