[Guys:
16 November 2005: this has been replaced by VJPhoneTools. Go to www.vijay555.com ![]() Guys: someone asked how I put phonecall shortcuts and sms shortcuts on my Today page, eg ![]() The middle line - Nenka's my girlfriend! This is set up using cLaunch, although any launcher app, and indeed the normal program menu can be set up to do this. Basically, the cab will install the files VJDialer and VJSMS to your \Program Files\VJSoft\ directory. Use gsfinder or something, make a shortcut to those files and specify the command line thus: SMS Code:
VJSMS "123" or Code:
VJSMS "123" -body "Thanks Vijay" NOTE - the speech marks around the number etc are important Dialer To make a call, do likewise, shortcut with command line: Code:
VJDialer 123 Tell me how it goes! Note, the cab will stick a couple of shortcuts in your Start Menu. If you don't have gsfinder, load the shortcut into word/notepad and edit it directly as text. CAB VJDialer.exe VJSMS.exe Oct 23 2005 Guys, I've just read that these guys are charging $10 for a plugin to do this kind of thing. I need to buy a WM5 device to finish developing a ton of good stuff I can’t share with you guys yet. However, my phone’s only a few months old and my better half won’t let me spend more cash now, so if I earn it, you guys will reap the rewards. My stuff will generally be free or nearly free, particularly for XDA forum users. Stay tuned for more goodies on show shortly. Click here to make a donation. V |

Thanks man!
That is absolutely brilliant! I really enjoy those little tweaks that improve the functionality of the magician, this is without any doubt one of them! C |

This is really great - am now using this along with your app to hide the bottom bar, and my screen looks (or will look*) brilliant!
Many, many thanks. * I just now need to design myself some icons for "phone home", "ring the misses", "call answerphone", etc. I can do the artwork, but have you got any hints on how I actually get the icon to display for the correct shortcut? I am currently using Pocket Plus but am going to install cLaunch JUST for the call/text icons..... |

brykins - cLaunch was very flexible because it allows you to use any bitmap as the icon image, so just stick a few photos in a directory and use those (best to keep them quite small, 32x32 ideally?).
For some bizarre reason, I decided to make a .dll full of my icons instead of using the easy option. That can be used for icon images as well, although cLaunch doesn't need to be configured this way ![]() Please post screenshots to show your work! V |

From the top: PPC Profiles using the text selection method; PocketPlus (inclusing PocketWeather and GPRS Monitor); PocketBreeze; Standard Messaging Plugin; CLaunch with your shortcuts to calls. ![]() Now just need to learn about Wisbar and try and do something about the top bar..... Bryan. |

Brykins - the icons look great!
Re the top bar, I presume you've seen my ToggleStart prog? http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...869&highlight= Throw in phonealarm and you can get rid of PPC Profiles... if you wish. What's wisbar performance like? I use SmallMenuPlus for my start menu, much more convenient than the standard one! V |

Don't know about Wisbar yet - have seen it and seen plenty of people use it, but not yet tried it myself. I don't need anything too heavy or complicated, just an easy way to change the colour of the top bar and use my own icons if possible. (Oh....just noticed that it's 2:20am and time for us Ingurlenders to be in bed!) |

Bed time, tell me about it! i'm off to in a mo.
Top bar - to skin it, wisbar is easiest I guess. I've heard some people say it has performance issues. I can't imagine it on modern PPCs, but I found myself not needing it now. To just change the colour - try CETuner, great to make themes directly on the PPC. My colour scheme is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...=147618#147618 for an example. V |

hey
I don't understand how this speed dial method works ... I installed the CAP. Now what I have to do ??? when I tap and hold a shortcut of VJDialer and choose properties, I can't choose a command line. If somebody can explain this to me?! the rest is a peace of cake, just make a today plugin of it ... and change the icon |
