I think it may be possible with the diag tools or QPST. It was possible on Omnia 7 though I blew the speaker :P

This is for system apps except start screen. (Like People, Messaging, Mail etc) Will not affect 3rd party apps. This is available in WPH Tweaks too

Don't be too sure of that (there being no way to raise max volume)... there are values which appear to refer to decibel gains, and if so, it might be possible to push the amplifier a little harder. It's something I've been meaning to investigate; I saw the values a while ago and will need to find them again, though.

In fact, one of my upcoming projects is a registry search function...

I found some strings that suggest that there is also a software limit in the Qualcomm stuff to stop blowing up speakers.

When using the LargeScreen -tweak, the amount of latest contacts shown imo tell that there is a reg setting on how many is visible there. Now it It could basically fit 4 more with really even needing to scroll for all of them.

do you know which DLL is CreateSymbolicLink function in? There is no kernel32.dll on wp8 and all the functions are separated into different dlls.. So difficult to find it.
also , I don't know whether ID_CAP_BUILTIN_SYMBOLICLINK works or not.

Look at @GoodDayToDie s Native Access Libraries, you can find the original function in the sources,

just now i had a look on it .. seems that the link can only be created to isolted storage (where the app can read/write) after adding the capability "ID_CAP_BUILTIN_SYMBOLICLINK" to the manifest..
and application cannot read what is in a symbolic link using this way..
