Default Increasing volume

I know how to increase the volume normally.

However, I find that the maximum is still really quite quiet - often enough for me to miss my phone ringing when it's in my pocket, or for me to miss my alarm to get up in the morning...

Does anyone know how to raise the volume any higher? Perhaps past its normal maximum?

Thanks

I use SPB Time.

Its some cool functions including multi alarm, plus real-time clock screensaver.

Link here.

Also I made a special wake-up wav file, it does the job for me.

I got the SPB Time program, and it seems pretty good - the alarm is loud enough. However, do you know if I have to have it running constantly for the alarm to work? I mean does it have to be up onscreen overnight if it is to wake me up?

For the screensaver, you do not need the program running. Another thing about the screensaver is you can customise it not to come on with certain programs, for example Windows Media and TomTom Navigator 5.1 etc.

If you have set the Alarm, then yes the SPB Time has to be running, but the plus is you can turn your pda off and it will turn it on to view and hear the alarm.

That's odd... I have tried setting timers and the alarm and turning my device off - they don't seem to sound until I turn it back on again

Thats strange it worked for me (XDA IIi) and my friends (QTEC 2020i). I'm running WM2003SE, maybe try re-install and/or contact spb support.

Anjow,

I got this from SPB Support, if a re-install doesn't work this may help.

My alarms do not ring when the time comes and the device is in sleep mode. Why?

Most probably you have a typical Windows Mobile 2003 alarm problem. Due to a specific WM2003 bug the system scheduling functions may have unpredictable behavior on some devices. Even native system alarms don't wake the device up from sleep mode on many 2003 devices. For our regret this problem is operating system and device specific.
However there are some known workarounds for this problem that may help (but still a 100% effect is not guaranteed). You may try WakeupTweak from BurrOak Software. Try these links: http://www.burroak.on.ca/ptafaq.html and http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=876
