1st time root/rom, i have S2 4.0.4 with brickbug
I'm totally new to messing with the phone's software...
I have a UK S2, on T-Mobile, with the ICS 4.0.4 update via Kies.
I've been wondering where my 2gb 'internal memory' has been vanishing to.
I have 700mb used, and 300mb free... so lost 1gb (ish) somewhere.
I searched on this forum and i've read there are a few things I can do to get my missing memory back, but I have to 'root' my phone.
I didn't even know what that meant till half an hour ago!
Then i read i can install JellyBean after rooting (JB hasnt been available on UK Tmobile for my phone for some reason)
I was about to follow the -Guide for Noobs- on rooting etc... but I did a little more digging first.
I then found that there is a brickbug on some phones...
I've done the check, and it confirms my phone has the brickbug problem, and i'm running 4.0.4
I'm now fairly confused...
Do i follow your excellent 'noob' guide ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2365701
Or do i need to do something else?
I've seen Siyah mentioned, as well as many other things (not that i even know what that means).
I'd be very grateful if someone could give me a guide on what i need to download and install to safely root my phone and upgrade to JellyBean from ICS 4.0.4 with a brickbug chipset.
Any help greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance.
TOTAL NOOB... lol
