Default Extended Rom Rom v1.6.x.x files keep coming back ?

When i delete the files inside my extrom, they keep returning after a soft reset.
I tried to delete them with total commander - > no success
when i unhide/unlock the extrom and delete them, again after a softreset they are back.

I also removed the "read only" attribute, but that doesn't do the job as well.. Also files wich i add are gone after a reset.

Anyone got a clue what to do ?

Hmmm...

I've been flashing whole day, trying different roms and
i found out that the 1.3.2.3 rom allows me to delete everything in the extended rom, but on the 1.6.2.2 (and 1.6.2.4) rom the files keep coming back.. very annoying situation :S

The same with me,
i have the 1.6.3.1 Vodafone Rom and i cannot delete any files in extended rom nor copy any file. Even all the unlockers ar of no help. It seems that this version is locked differently.
Haven't tried to flash a different rom yet.

Hmmm...
It must be a regsetting then i hope..?
If i've got time enough today i'll flash the 1.3 rom again and make a
registry backup.. after that i'll flash it again with the 1.6 and do the same
and then compare the registry's.

Maybe that will do the job

For me now is the time to quit looking for a way to write files in the extrom, i hope some genius ppcguru will find the way of the dragon
Eventhough there is a minor difference in the registry of both roms, changing the value's or deleting certain storagemanager keys doesn't do the job.

Just a matter of time i hope....

Edit

I compared the registry's of the 1.3 and 1.6 rom, and there are some differences,

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\TrueFFS1]
"Key"="Drivers\\BuiltIn\\TrueFFS1"
"Flags"=dword:00000004
"SoftwareWriteProtect"=dword:00000001
"AutoDPDMode"=dword:00000001

also strange, that if you "delete" files, the memory comes free for that session, and you can make use of the memory, but after the soft reset it still wipes all added content.
Maybe there's a file with all cabs inside that it restores on reboot ?

I have compared the boot.rgu of ROM 1.5.x device and 1.6.x device. I think the key to the problem should be the \windows\boot.hv file, which come from \windows\boot.rgu. IF we could change remove the "writeprotect" key in that file the protection should be gone.

I could change it and it remained gone from the registry, that setting, but still, no effect ?

Probarly yes, i did it from the registry.. And not from het .hv.
Maybe the romediting tool from Mamaich
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=34171 will do the job..

If i got time, i'll try to do that..

(if!)

Just tried this way by modifing SoftWriteProtect value in default.hv, then flashing it back via aWizard, I am sorry it didn't work as we expected.
