Im going nuts-please help me.Windows keeps crashing!
Hello all,
I am in need of some desperate help. I've been trying to connect my MDA Vario to my PC for ages but keep having the same problem.
1. I install Activesync 4.1 which updates the USB drivers I believe.
2. I connect my Vario via the USB cable
3. The Windows bubble states a new Windows Moble device has been found.
4. Windows XP CRASHES and the whole PC just switches off and reboots !!!!! :!:
When Windows loads up again, I can plug and unplug the Vario and the bubble won't appear (even though the sound plays just like when any other USB device is being connected).
If I look at device manager under hardware and under Network adaptors I see a yellow exclaimation mark by the "Windows Mobile-based Device" icon. If I uninstall the driver and reinstall it the same crashing problem occurs once I connect the Vario.
I am running Windows XP with SP2 and Zone Alarm. I have tried various combinations like completely switching off Zone Alarm and uninstalling/reinstalling Activesync but keep getting the same result.
I have also tried the same thing on my brothers PC an get EXACTLY the same thing. I am really at the end of my rope now and don't know what else to do. Can't even find anyone with the same problem on this forum or through Google.
If anyone has experienced this I would really appreacite your help. I can't be the only person in the whole world who has come across this.... can I?
Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for your replies.
Still using HTC Desire!
