I did not mod anything to make this happen, I could look in to it. But my default videoplayer is VLC
And I never use font setting from the rom it self.
So these 2 issues have no effect on my use of this rom. ?

The "native typeface cannot be made" seems like it could be related to the fonts issue also.

Video player works fine on the deodexed rom that I made for myself to play with. I tried my app on your rom and it didn't work either.

DutchDanny, thanks for the update, my son loves his new trim down tab 3. One request, will you release a fix for the stock video player or is not worth it? either way thanks for your hard work... guess ill use VLC in the meantime...thanks again

I think it could be something with the deodexing I had my own deodex version and front and video work fine also I don't think it's anything to do with what you remove from the rom because video player crash on your 100% stock rom too I swap out the front and video along with some other apks and file from my version and replace it in your rom and video and front began working.

I can copy them to my /system/fonts directory, but I haven't found a way to change the permissions on multiple files. Tried chmod 644 *.* from terminal emulator but it says it doesn't have write permissions to the font file.

U don't have to change permission on the fonts just delete to old fonts folder and copy mine you only have to change permission on the folder that contain the fonts only not the individual fonts

OK, I tried that. Deleted the /system/fonts folder. Copied your /fonts folder to /system. Set /system/fonts folder to what they were before and rebooted. Stuck on Samsung logo. Restoring backup now.

All I did was download the fonts zip. Then opened the zipped Rom file, deleted the fonts folder from the Rom. Then imported the new fonts folder. Then closed the Rom zip file. Put it on an SD card. Did a full wipe and installed Rom. Then the video player works. I didn't restore any backup or anything. I know is more work to reinstall the apps and configure them. But it really worked and to be honest I'm not that experienced with the whole flashing bit.
