I,

my wife own the Ace2 and it is slow - she is unhappy with the phone at this time. So maybe i will install Cyanogen and i believe that she will be happy again. Does i have to install a custom recovery or just put the zip on the phone, enter recovery and install the new system?
For now the phone runs Android Gingerbread or Froyo (think it is Gingerbread).

Thanks for your answers,

kind regards

You should upgrade to jelly bean first, then using temporary Cwm, you could flash this ROM.

Use ace2nutzer 's latest build, im quite happy with it.

Did you have links and can discribe me the way to do that?
Is the update to jelly bean only put the zip on the phone and install it? The phone of my wife is not rooted and runs the original Samsung software (no custom recovery and so on). My old Galaxy S required first a custom recovery.

I dont have the links for the moment, it should easily be searched under ace2 development thread.

The safest step I could think of would be:
1. Install jelly bean Stock ROM using odin
2. Go into recovery, and flash temporary cwm
3. Reboot into temporary Cwm
4. Flash your choice of custom ROM

Guys I have a problem again. In call volume is so low even I have trouble to hear the opposite. I tried volume+ app and increased speak volume a bit but in call volume is still the same. Interestingly when I make the call the volume is really high and good but when someone call me I can't even get the voice. What should the problem be?

Edit: I use Chorone Kernel latest version.

This is very weird, low incall Bug is an very old CM11 Issue.. and it's already fixed. Try normal CM11 by TC if the Problem is fixed :)

Is this the right version for me?

Samsung Galaxy Ace 11
Model i8160xxna1i8160btuna1 Jelly bean 4.1.2

I ask because on the unofficial ports page of CM there are 5 versions listed and I do not understand how to decide which one to try to install.

I also ask because my version of JB is 4.1.2 and this version is ROM 4.4.4, but as I will be replacing JB with CM does that it matter that the numbers do not match?

    Ok, now your turn!

I don't want to disturb any developer with his work for Ace II so I decided to give you this release, and now you will decide:
should I keep this project alive or leave it as one-time only?

There's a poll. Everything depends on your voice:
