[SOUNDMOD] Insanely loud & deppresingly quiet headphones volume - no quality loss!
I've seen loads of threads for other devices and now I got mad because the volume wasn't enough for me, so I decided to create one for Z1.
It will work with EVERY FIRMWARE/ROM/KERNEL.
It's compatible with Viper4android - confirmed.
It was made possible by @Drummerjed . I used this guide to see what needs to be edited. Thanks to him. Please thank him, because I wouldn't be able to do this without him.
That's not just copy and paste from another mod, so audio quality remains the same because I just made audio output number different.
THIS CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEARING, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE MADE TO YOUR DEVICE, HEARING,HEADPHONES, HOUSE OR ANYTHING ELSE.
Flash via recovery. I tested every zip on my own z1 so it shouldn't cause any issues.
It should work on every firmware and every ROM.
If you don't have a recovery, but have root with /system r/w access then just unpack the zip of your choice and move both files with taiko in the filename to /system/etc/soc_snd_msm/. Permissions should be just like the original files in that directory.
back to stock = .136 firmware files are being flashed on your device, it's meant ONLY
revert_for_all_devices = after you flashed a zip with backup it restores your previous audio files that were created by the backup.
What that means?
stock->insane/boost/quiet->revert = you are using your previous audio files - in case something goes wrong on other devices (like Z1compact,Z Ultra or any other)
stock->insane->boost->revert = you are on insane files
stock->boost->insane->revert = you are on boost files
I strongly suggest using boost files first. I made them loud enough. I'm using them as my daily driver. If that's not yet enough for you then I made the DEAF version - this is SERIOUSLY LOUD - DON'T PUT IT ON MAX VOLUME AFTER FLASHING AS IT MAY BURN YOUR HEADPHONES - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Try flashing the INSANE!!! version before trying out DEAF though. Deaf is 300 while stock is like 110 or lower.
Tested with :
Won't work with:
Let me know if it works with other devices!
26.02.2014 - Added DEAF version. It's almost 3 times louder than stock. I raised the volume from 110 to 300. If you would like to go deaf - flash it on your own discretion.
Enable "dynamic equaliser" in sound options/equaliser to get the boost. I found out that if it's disabled, the volume is much lower.
