Help! Items on Today screen got wiped out

Knowing better not to mess with something that's working, I went into memaid and did some cleaning to remove those programs that didn't uninstall correctly. Now I am missing half of the stuff on my Today screen such as messenger, screen lock, pocket weather, etc. If I go into the Settings/Todays/Item, the items that used to be there are mostly gone. But for some reason they still show up in memaid as valid item on today screen.

Upon further examination, it appears all the plugins on today screen are still within the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\TODAY\ITEMS\

Each entry does show ACTIVE=1. It's as if Today screen is not picking up these plugins.

Anybody know how I can restore these missing items?

Sorry, forgot to mention this is WM5 on a 8125.

On reading the full explanation it definitely sounds like some DLLs are misplaced / missing.
