Default Holux GPSlim 236

I'm looking into a GPS unit for my Cingular 8125. I've done some search and people has been recommending the Holux GPSlim 236. What software would I use with the 8125 and Holux GPSlim 236? Thanks.

Default GPS

I purchased a GPT-700 for around $60 USD last week from Geeks. It works well but it doesn't have all of the features of the Holux GPSlim 236. Did have to play some with TomTom to get it to recognize serial port (a manual config edit). It comes with its own application and maps. The maps are about 3 years old. But its worth the deal.

i have the GPSlim 236 working like charm with my kjam, i use Mobile Navigator with it, because you don't have to pair the device at all, you just need to run the auto detect through the software and you're good to go.

I have the GPSlim 236 and did a review of it here. You can use it with any GPS aware navigation application including TomTom, Mapopolis, OnCourse Navigator, Destinator Technologies, etc. Personally I use Mapopolis and love it.

I also have this unit and use iGuidance. It works like a charm.

In my car I have a cig lighter built into the arm rest in the center console (Acura TL). I keep the GPS in the storage area plugged in and I still get an average of 9 satellite connections in Los Angeles. That is WHITHOUT any external antenna! I very much reccommend this unit.

I got one too and couldn't reccomend it enough. I use it with TOM TOM in the UK. Even use it walking around the streets of London or riding the bus.

That said I've never used another GPS so really I'm really in no position to compare.
