Default Dopod 818 Pro Rom Comparison - My Story

Hi,

I have the Qtek S200 and have tested the Qtek, Imate, Original Dopod, and the new 2.15 Test Rom. From all of these, only the Original Dopod Rom seems to give me all the functionality with the least bugs.

In the Qtek and Imate roms and the DOPOD test rom, my Dual Sim Card adaptor does not work properly. Only the Single Sim functions properly and the second sim causes radio problems.

The New Dopod Test rom, run quite slow on mine and seems to hang for a bit while opening applications. When running nothing at all only 19M of memory is used, which is better than all the other roms, but still the hang happens when opening applications.

The fastest ROM (compared with the original Dopod rom) was the Qtek and even though it seemed that it had the greatest memory leak, a relflash of the Qtek ROM solved the problem.

The New Dopod Test ROM also has problem with my Dual SIM adaptor, and I wish there was a Dopod person of email i could contact to report this problem but I haven't found an English site yet with this kind of information.

I also do not know who else is having these problems, and would appreciate it if I could get some feedback on this.

Cheers,

Oz.

Default yup

Yup, I have tried it and still the same problem with my Dual sim adaptor. With the new ROMS (AKU2) I have seen that the WiFi signal is considerablly lower. I have tested this at home, and at the local starbucks with the same low signal.

Default iMate ROM

I am not using a dual SIM adapter, but I flashed the iMate ROM per the instructions here: http://www.kaitech.hk/component/opti...ic,554.msg2868

It works a whole lot better. I am getting better performance than the original ROM that shipped with my Dopod 818 Pro when it was overclocked. Without the bugginess that was inherent in the 818 Pro original ROM and the bugginess that came from overclocking. Now I only overclock for VOIP.

The Dopod ROM on mine acutally seemed significantly slower with the long opening delays. The delay with the iMate ROM was much, much less.
