yes

Version 1.0.9 ( Android 4+ only for now, 2.3+ will follow in 1.1.0):
XDA beta only apk download: http://goo.gl/lwOzgz

Changelog:
- Image streaming added (bug: reports format not supported, but displays image)
- Music streaming added
- Folder navigation added
- UI beautified
- couple of bugs added... I am aware of these and will fix them, please no bug reports for this version.

Displaying one image and listening to one song at a time, kinda makes no sense, so I will add a 'diashow' and 'playlist/queue'.
As mentioned before: for music streaming, keep an eye on my other app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2545818
Chromecast support is almost done, there.

If streaming is slow/stuttering/always buffering:
Please check your WLAN connection...

I know it's already been asked but management of subtitles would really be great...
Is this technically feasible? If yes, please add this feature to your to-do list.

Thanks for the great work so far

I'll do some tests how this performs on the device.

I could convert to a supported format on the fly on the device, but I see a couple of problems there:

1. Space: needs at least as much free space on the device as the movie is in size +x. Converting in chunks would of course be possible, if the conversion is fast enough (seeking...).
2. Resources: no idea how ffmpeg will slow down the device when converting a movie. I know it works OK for WMA to WAV (5 - 10 seconds for a 4 minute song, depending on the device).
3. I guess ffmpeg works for this, but I never tried it.
4. There will come up problems I missed. For sure.

Subtitles: didn't take a look yet if they can be sent to the chromecast seperatly + I have know idea how this whole subtitle thing works yet

Plex support subtitles with Chromecast. But Plex doesn't support local streaming from phone, only files from pc or NAS.

Awesome, My Note 3 should capable perform this stuff and please add subtitles too. I tried use webvvt as used for subtitiles as the problem is no software support this.

All of my RIP movies embed subtitles in MKV and Subrip (srt) for Plex. It would be nice the fly on my Note 3 renderer streaming both movie and subtitles together run from either locally or from NAS due awesome Note 3's muscle quad cpu processor.

I could just convert MKV to MP4 with burned in subtitles, too much time consumed convert a 300 movies mkv to mp4 and I just wish chromecast support all video format
