Default Volume-Limitation for MMS ?

Hello,

on your Qtek 8300 (and also other HTC Smartphones) you can set the volume limitation for MMS in 3 steps up to 250K.

In the registry this value can be changed.

My question is: What will happen if you change it and try to send a picture larger than this limit ?

In other words:

Is this a limit of the handset (or some firmware, which has anyway to be 3GPP spec-compliant) or is this due to a limit on the MMSC (which also has to be 3GPP-compliant) ?

Could the handset send larger MMS but the MMSC not process it ? Or could the handset not process them (and therefore limited), but theoretically the MMSC process it ?

Does anyone know the specific reasons ?

O2 in the UK now allow 300Kb messages through their MMSc's, not sure if that works if you are sending to another network though
