What stock rom would I use for the UK? Had a look on samfirmware also but couldn't see one.

Nice posts btw jrandroid. Good to see all the useful links in one post. Cheers for compiling them for us.

You can use any ROM you like all ROMs have english language.

As for me I'm always using the latest update.

There is. I just got LM3 OTA. Maybe he just forgot to include Philippines. I just read somewhere here in the forums that there were 4 new asian stock roms and ph is included.

The downloaded files are in zip format. How can I flash it with Odin since it's not a md5 file?

Its easier to flash the ROM with Clockworkmod after flashing Clockworkmod with Odin.

Yes, but since by installing it with CWM failed I tried to look up for other methods but I can't find any...
Any advice?

This happened to me once, I factory reset in CWM and it seems to fix the issue.
