I've been around the block a few times with my i777, using creepyncrawly's UCKH7 OCD to root, then mobile ODIN for CWM recovery, then flashing custom ROMs. So far, though, I've stuck to the Touchwiz-based ROMs.

On the instructions for CyanogenMod for the i777:

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i777

there is a mention of 'fakeflash' being installed via stock recovery. This is a new idea to me. When I Google 'fakeflash', or search through the i777 forums here, I see very few mentions of it.

How is it "temporarily" applied, and why isn't this method (rename to update.zip, apply with stock recovery) used more often?

Most importantly, will it trigger the triangle?
