Default [Q] Can't unlock bootloader for my HTC one GPE

Hi All,
Recently I got a new htc one google play edition and i tried to unlock the bootloader. I tried either using "fastboot oem unlock" or htcdev method, but both of them didn't work.
When I used htcdev method, there's no prompt message show up on the phone at the final step, and here is the error message when I used "fastboot oem unlock"

fastboot oem unlock
...
(bootloader) [DISPLAY_ERR] sp_custom image does not exist!!!
(bootloader) [DISPLAY_ERR] Can not load custom splash!
(bootloader) Loading custom splash failed!
OKAY [ 0.009s]
finished. total time: 0.009s

Here is fastboot getvar all message.

fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.54.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4T.21.3218.21
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 3.62.1700.1
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
(bootloader) serialno:
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m7_u
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-8064
(bootloader) modelid: PN0711000
(bootloader) cidnum: GOOGL001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4210mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: dirty-0e82187e
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!
finished. total time: 0.040s

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I think the product name should be: m7_ul not m7_u
If It's On XDA It Must Be Real

Thanks for your reply.
I'm pretty sure the product name is m7_u. I copied/paste all the information from my computer.

M7_U, M7_UL, M7_WL are all different variants of the htc one.

And why are you using ''fastboot oem unlock'' ?

you have to do this:
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
then copy/paste token to htcdev.com and the will send you an email with your unlock_code.bin file

then move that file to your fastboot/adb directory

then

Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
and respect the capital U of Unlock

then your device will display the bootloader unlock menu.
If I've helped you, please hit the ''tanks'' button

Yes, I did it several times. But I never got the unlock menu pop-up on my phone.

do you have the GPE hboot (black bootloader) or the Sense hboot (white bootloader), if it's the black one, then "fastboot oem unlock" should work.

It used to work on GPE 4.2, but no longer works on 4.4. This thread is relevant.

You're currently out of luck, as there's no RUU to downgrade to 4.2 with S-ON.
