Default [Q] AOSP bricks on this phone?

Hi XDA,
So I used to have a Sprint HTC One, and never flashed an aosp rom because of so many people getting bricks on their phones. Is this a Sprint only problem? Or is this a problem on all carriers?

Here is a link to some of the sprint threads:

Thanks,
GalaxyUser50

EDIT: Also, if this is a problem is it on all roms? Only roms I really want to install are slim bean and cyanogenmod.

I know, I used to have a sprint htc one and now have an AT&T one. I wanted to know if the problem is on these devices to. Sorry for the confusion.
