phone tower communication

I've had my atom for a week now, absolutley love it except for a few annoying problems which are becoming quite an issue.

1. needs to be chargedup at least twice a day
2. high pitched squeal anytime screen is on

and very annoyingly:
3. phone communicates with tower every 30seconds. When this happens,every radio or television in the room exhibits that noise when phones are communicating. This gets damn annoying,is there a way to make it occur less often?
