[Q] Q: Upgrade without losing data

Greetings!

I have 9.2.A.0.278 DaRk Experience v1; is it possible to upgrade to 9.2.A.1.199 (stock-based ROM via CWM, not official firmware) without losing personal data (contacts, messages, downloaded apps)?
Or it's necessary to do a clean install.

you can move/copy all your apps to ext sd. contacts should be saved to your google account not sure about you messages though. I always delete mine.
