scolley - there's no question in your post. As a statement, it's informative, but ultimately merely evokes suspense - did you solve your backlight problem, or merely resort to using xmen style glasses to create your own?

Please don't multiple post. I'm deleting the other 83% of your "efflu-posts".

I'm afraid I have no specific knowledge on the TomTom issue. My backlight works fine with it. How did you install it? Have you tried the latest update on TomTom's website? The map problem is not an issue with the original app. The crack has problems, but read the instructions that come with it and you should be able to get it to work.

See Doc Xavier re the Specs.

Presumably you've tried holding down the power key to toggle backlight?

Worst case, I think VJEschaton should be able to force backlight on. Otherwise, is this only happening in TomTom?

Yes this is only happening in tom tom
Installed the 5.21 upgrade from tomtom site tried to load the cab files but every time i did the ttn.cab it failed. so i have another pda with tom tom on and i copied the root folders over to my XDA and i got tomtom working but without the backlight. seems to be something with the navigator.exe file as i tried another and i got the light working but the software could not find the maps on the sd card

Posted in another thread. Locate the maps on your sd root, and if using the crack, copy the crack file subfolder to your my documents.

Finaly given up, no matter what i try i cant get it to work properly. get the backlight to work and it cant find the maps. if i get it to find the maps the backlight does not work unless i press contacts button while tomtomn is running and then go into settings backlight untick the backlight box and re tick it, then close down settings and the backlight is still working in tomtom unless i exit the program and then load tomtom, the backlight is gone again. I think I prefered win2003, at least my progs worked
