Question [Q] Is it possible to force Note 3 working on USB 3.0?

Hi,

Is it possible to force Note 3 to on USB 3.0 forever instead of 10 min only?

The reason is I usually charging the phone on my lab computer, the lab computer does have USB 3.0, but it only has a charging current of 400mA unless I changed on the phone mode to USB 3.0 MTP mode so that I can achieve a charging current of 900mA, however, the phone will switch back to usb 2.0 from usb 3.0 in 10 min, also the charging rate drop back to 400mA

I am using N900w8 Kitkat ROM and there is no fast charge kernel available today

Anyone can give some suggestions?

As far as I'm aware if your using the usb3 data cable that came with your note and plug into a usb3 port it should stay connected as usb3. It shouldn't drop to usb2 after 10 mins.. also the charging current should be a lot higher than 400ma. Strange one this.
I'll have a dig around and see if I can get you a better answer.. meanwhile someone else may chime in..

Edit: with usb3.0 you should be getting at least 900ma or 0.9A
From what I found on Google search it says it also depends on the usb2.0 and usb3.0 controller.

Hope this helps.. you could also do a Google search for more answers..

Please hit thanks if I've helped you.

I believe it says it will fall back to USB 2 mode after 4 minutes of idle time.
