Default Will HD+ be more responsive with CM?

My wife often complains that her stock HD+ isn't as responsive as she'd like. Will either of the stable builds (10.1.3 or 10.2.1) be better or is this a hardware issue? I'm wondering if the BN software slows things down.

I'd say if a little bit can't be dealt with then get a different tablet - I can deal with it cause of the screen size for the price and other roms... but, not everyone will.

[Adding also, cm11 is actually quite good - smoothest cm to me. But with switching apps, keyboard popup, typing in the brower, and more there tends to be waiting at various times or various lengths. How much of that is the device, the apps, or android is unknown to me.]
HTC sensation 4G | cm11 albinoman ROM - 3/2/14 Workaround for incoming phone calls going to missed (including the swipe issue) with all cm based roms -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=884 (Longest recorded uptime: 1,060 hours)
Nook HD+ 32 | cm11 emmc official ROM (Longest recorded uptime: 331 hours with much daily use)
....Nook HD+ 16 | (Returned due to random reboots; defective tablet)
